Amazing Terrier Breeds To Choose For Backyard - 2022 Guide
Siberian huskies are a very popular and well-liked breed all over the world. Their wolf-like appearance, bright colored eyes, and goofy nature make them likable among people of all ages. Huskies are welcomed by a number of families as they can be a great addition to one’s home. They give plenty of attention to their owner so it’s a common question to ask whether they can make a good esa letter online.
When we talk about emotional support animals, the first animal that comes to our mind is a dog. Dogs are, by nature, very loving animals that are famous for their undying loyalty towards their owner. They are very intelligent creatures and can be trained to perform tricks such as rolling over, shaking hands, playing fetch, and many more. They can be specially trained to be service or emotional support dogs.
Service dogs are helpful for people who are suffering from a physical disability like blindness, deafness, or those who might need a service dog to push a wheelchair. Emotional support animals are those that provide mental or emotional support to people who are suffering from mental illness. They are helpful for people who have anxiety, depression, PTSD, or any other mental illness that requires emotional support. A licensed mental professional assigns an emotional support animal after evaluating the mental condition of the client. Once the therapist determines the need for an ESA, he signs an emotional support animal letter, which is necessary for adoption. This letter also gives the animal certain rights, like being allowed to live in a no-pet area.
Emotional support animals have many rights that allow them to be with their owner at the house, at different restaurants, cafés, and other places that the owner might want to visit with his ESA. However, to avail these rights, an ESA Letter is required. The process of getting the letter is quite simple. As mentioned above, you simply have to go for your mental health evaluation, and then your therapist can guide you regarding the future course of action.
When it comes to keeping dogs as ESAs, it should be kept in mind that not all breeds can be good ESAs. While huskies might look very appealing as emotional support animals, they are not the best choice in this regard. Some specific characteristics are needed to be qualified as an emotional support animal. You cannot simply put a vest on your dog and call them your ESA.
Huskies are very friendly and social creatures that do not have a protective instinct for their owner. Unlike other dogs that are used for herding purposes, huskies do not have it in them to work together with their humans. They have a low will to please their owner. The huskies’ purpose in life is more about staying with their kind and running with their mates over long distances. You might be able to keep your husky because of your esa letter for housing, but that does not mean that your dog will fulfill your desire of them assisting you in emotional matters. Instead, huskies are a breed that requires emotional support and love from their owner and not the other way around.
Having the need for emotional support and attention, huskies can have behavioral problems. That is a problem that no person with mental illness can afford to have with their ESA. Dealing with their behavioral problems can drain the owner of their energy and cause them to get more depressed or increase their anxiety. People might want to get their huskies turned into emotional support animals due to the fact that they are attached to them already. But it is best that they consider some other option for such an important task.
People who suffer from mental illnesses need a companion who likes to cuddle and snuggle with their owner as such an affectionate gesture helps them in keeping the stress levels low and keep their anxiety at bay. Huskies are known to have a personality; for the most part, they do not like to cuddle. While some of them can be super loving, there are so many that are not. Huskies are overactive creatures and they have a lot of energy, hence they need to be taken out for long periods of time to be stimulated both physically and mentally. If you are not able to provide them with the necessary playtime and walks in the park, your husky might become destructive and noisy and will cause your anxiety to escalate. It is normal for a husky to be at the dog park for around 3 hours.
With huskies, you can expect them to have attitude problems occasionally. There might be days where they cannot stop showering their love on you and then comes a day when they ould not even care about you and your existence. They will not even acknowledge your presence. Huskies are also not very protective of their owners, they might look after them but it is only due to the fact that they are possessive about them. Otherwise, they are not ones with aggressive personalities, rather they are very social and love interacting with other people and be friends with them.
Having a dog with such a personality can cause more problems for people who are suffering from depression, anxiety, trust issues, etc. If, by any chance, your emotional support dog, i.e., a husky, runs away, it will cause your anxiety to shoot through the roof. Also, by being treated with the silent treatment or given the cold shoulder, you will feel more anxious because you are not seeing the results after putting in so many hours of training. Hence, you must consider these potential issues if you’re planning on getting a husky as an emotional support dog letter.
