Here is an example of the Alpargata pattern that we made while developing the patterns!

Oesher, Jill sent in some photos of her first Alpargata “1 shoe down, 1 more to go”

I love the dinosaur fabric, keep up the beautiful work!

I love it, I found some Alpargata pattern shoes! These are the most attractive and unique shoes ever. The design is so cool and different from other brands. It’s a must have for every fashionista! And also love the sneakers of shoestheory.

What type of fabric is recommended for the “stabilizer fabric”?  The link for this in the pdf instructions is not live.

    Thanks!

    Hi Laura,

I believe we used Pellon’s Peltex Ultra-Firm Sew-In stabilizer for our prototypes. (https://www.joann.com/peltex-fabric-stabilizer/7477532.html or https://www.amazon.com/Peltex-Ultra-Firm-Sew-Stabilizer-15-Yard/dp/B008I68JYM/)

Similar sew-in stabilizers would also work. If you’d prefer to iron in a fusible stabilizer, I would recommend removing the seam allowance on the heel stabilizer pattern.

For shoes made from an already stiff material, such as denim or canvas, it’s possible that a heel stabilizer cut from the same material as the rest of the shoe could provide sufficient stability.

Thank you for letting us know about the broken links!
