OESH Create: Cozy Crochet Slip-on Booties Pattern

The weather is getting colder and the sun is setting earlier, making it the perfect time to cuddle up with a craft like OESH Create.

If you’ve been wanting to crochet a pair of shoes with OESH Create, this easy and free crochet pattern for cozy booties is a great place to start! These booties only use one skein of yarn, plus a few yards of a smaller yarn to attach to the sole, so it can be great for stash busting. It’s also quick enough to make adjustments as you go, so that you can get the perfect fit. Don’t be afraid to pull it out and make changes.

Notes

Each OESH Create sole has 6 circle holes to use as place markers for different patterns. For this pattern, you’ll need to locate the one in the middle of the medial (inner) side of the sole, under where the arch of your foot goes, and the circles at the big toe, where you will start the toe portion.

Increase or decrease the amount of sc2tog to adjust the fit. You may also work two single crochet into the same stitch to increase the size as needed. The first few rows should generally go straight up, and not angle in or out at the toe.

Especially if you’re making a lot of adjustments to the pattern, you may want to alternate working on both shoes one or two rows at a time to keep them symmetrical, and try them on as you go. This pattern also works both shoes symmetrically, but can be adjusted to only work in one preferred direction.

For the smaller yarn, you can also use waxed thread, like we recommend for connecting sewn uppers to the create soles.
