3D Printed Sandals

a Huge Hit at NSF Conference

Earlier this week, Casey was in Atlanta for the National Science Foundation SBIR Phase II Grantee Conference, and by all accounts, OESH 3D printed sandals were a huge hit. When she left, we loaded up her luggage with pairs of sandals to wear and show off, but folks loved them so much, she barely came back with any!

Casey Kerrigan of #NSFfunded small business @oeshshoes offers 3D printed footwear made of ♻ recycled materials that are customized to people’s feet. According to Kerrigan, the material is five to 10 times less expensive than typical 3D-printed material, and the flat elastic spring sole design reduces joint impact and is based on biomechanical research. OESH Shoes is one of more nearly 300 small businesses and startups in Atlanta this week funded by America’s Seed Fund, powered by the National Science Foundation. #NSFinnovation #nsfstories #nsffunded #science #technology #footwear #recycled #SBIR #Atlanta #shoes
