What is it about Julia Child that brings so much joy? Maybe it’s actually, what isn’t there about her, that brings it.
Ms. Child would be 100 right now, and since this is our 100th Blog, we thought it would be great fun to celebrate her enduring spirit with a few of her mythic quotes:
“The only time to eat diet food is while you’re waiting for the steak to cook.”
“The best way to execute French cooking is to get good and loaded and whack the hell out of a chicken. Bon appétit.”
“Always remember: If you’re alone in the kitchen and you drop the lamb, you can always just pick it up. Who’s going to know?”
“Maybe the cat has fallen in the stew, or I have put the lettuce out the window and it has frozen, or the cake has collapsed…if the food is truly vile, then the cook must simply grit her teeth and bear it with a smile — and learn from her mistakes.”
